The Kodak Snapic A1 is a reusable 35mm compact camera launched in 2025 by RETO, a Hong Kong company that makes Kodak-licensed cameras. It is RETO's first full-frame film camera with a glass lens. The design is minimalist: a matte plastic body in Rhino Grey or Ivory White, with a small OLED display on top. Its clean, compact lines recall 1990s point-and-shoots such as the Ricoh R1 and the Rollei Prego.

The lens is a 25mm f/9.5 three-element design, paired with a single 1/100s shutter speed. Film loading, advance and rewind are automatic, powered by two AAA batteries. A double-exposure mode lets you layer two images on one frame. Focus has two zones, 0.5 to 1.5 m and 1.5 m to infinity. With a fixed aperture and shutter, the built-in flash (auto, on or off, with red-eye reduction) takes over when the light drops.

Good fit: A natural choice for anyone who wants a reloadable 35mm camera that handles winding and rewinding on its own. Load any roll, pick a focus zone and shoot. The double-exposure mode adds a creative twist, and the close zone lets you frame subjects from 0.5 m.

Fun fact: The A1 in its name nods to the Kodak A1, a 110-format pocket camera Eastman Kodak released in 1978.

Camera Repair Diagnostic The Analog Club

OUR PROCESS

On giving old cameras a second life.

From flea markets to collectors, passing by friends and private sellers, we carefully handpick our cameras from different sources.

Each camera has its own story, and we take the time to assess its condition, checking for signs of wear, mechanical issues, or missing parts. Some cameras are ready to shoot with just a little cleaning, while others require deeper repairs.

We focus on sourcing models that can be restored to full working condition, ensuring they can be enjoyed for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

OUR CAMERAS

A film format corresponds to the size and type of film a camera uses. The most common formats are 35mm, medium format (120/220), large format (4x5, 8x10), and integral instant film such as SX-70 or Polaroid 600.

We offer 35mm cameras (including compact, rangefinder and SLR models) as well as medium format ones. We also carry instant cameras like the Polaroid SX-70 series, which use integral film and produce a fully developed print directly from the camera within minutes.

From flea markets to collectors, passing by friends and private sellers, we carefully handpick our cameras from different sources. We prefer to select used vintage cameras to give them a second life, although we sometimes sell new cameras that come in their original box.

We take great pride in ensuring that every camera and lens we offer has undergone meticulous revision and repair by our team of expert technicians. Our dedicated professionals possess a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field, allowing them to carefully inspect, evaluate, and repair each camera to guarantee they’re in excellent working condition when they land in your hands.

With our commitment to quality and expertise, you can trust that the camera you purchase from us has been carefully revised, and repaired to provide you with a reliable and enjoyable shooting experience.

Several factors are considered when calculating our prices to ensure a fair and competitive offering:

  • Market Price: We assess the current market value of the camera and lens models, taking into consideration factors such as demand, availability, and overall market trends. This helps us establish a price that aligns with the prevailing market conditions.
  • Camera Condition and Revisions: The price reflects the cost of revising and repairing the cameras and lenses to ensure they are in excellent working condition. We invest in thorough inspections and any necessary repairs to provide you with cameras that function optimally.
  • Brand and Model Reputation: The reputation and desirability of the camera brand and model also influence the pricing. Cameras from renowned brands or those known for their exceptional features or craftsmanship may have a higher price point due to their perceived value.
  • Rarity and Collectibility: If a camera is rare or has collectible value due to its age, limited production, or historical significance, it may be priced accordingly to reflect its unique attributes and desirability among collectors.
  • Customer Value: We strive to offer competitive pricing while ensuring customers receive a fair value for their investment.

By considering these factors, we establish a fair price that ultimately provides our customers with a comprehensive and satisfying package.
